Mount Edith Cavell

Mount Edith Cavell was named on 1916 by English as an honor to her, previously name was mount Fitzhugh by German. Edith Cavell  is located in the Athabasca river and Astoria river valleys of Jasper National Park, most famous peak in Alberta. Edith Cavell was an English nurse was executed during first world war.

During fall, it is very challenging to explore the area, as the snow start early in Alberta, however the Cavell meadow still gives you incredible snow and glacier on top of the mountain, be aware walking on Icy pathway toward the frozen lake make sure wear your winter proper gear. During Summer is the best time to do hike, in the Cavell meadow trail, the elevation is 500 meters and distance 8.5 km.
